(Photo taken in St. Maarten.)

I'm home!
Although we didn't go to Jamaica, here's a video that reminds me of the vacation I just took:

Clicky here for some Amazulu

The better half and I have seen five movies in the past week, so we can have a somewhat informed opinion about the Oscar contenders. If I weren't so tired, I'd write more about them. But I am tired, so those write-ups will have to wait.

St. Maarten's looks beautiful, mon. (Do they say 'mon' there? Please tell me they do.)

Amazulu, eh? I always wondered who actually sang that song.

I don't think my opinion of the Oscar contenders is gonna be informed at all this year. [sniff] Unless the House Bunny comes out of nowhere and snags one for Best Actress and Costume Design.

Let me guess, you guys saw Brad Pitt age backwards, Frost berate Nixon, Slumdog Millionaire, (I hate) Milk and The Spirit.

Well, I can't say I heard anyone say "mon" but our tour guide did say "don't worry, be happy" quite a bit. :)

You should start an Anna Farris FYC campaign.

We saw Ben Button, Slumdog (or Slumlord, as my mom has called it), Frost/Nixon, Milk and Doubt. The Spirit. Hee.

Do you really hate milk?

Yeah, I guess just about anyone can just start FYC campaign. Hmmm.

Did you like Emile Hirsch's performance in Milk? Because I remember you saying something about being unimpressed by the trailer.

I like milk. I was just making yet another Air Miami reference. :)

I had issues with Emile's hair in the trailer, but the 'fro wasn't quite as distracting as I thought. I liked his performance. (Diego Luna, however, was out of his league.)

So...did you hear about Zooey's engagement?

I don't usually pay attention to celebrity birth and engagement announcements. But I'll admit, the Zooey one stung a little.

Oh, I know you're supposed say, "like I ever had a chance." But I genuinely thought I had a shot. ;)
