Triple Exclamation Point

Yeah, I'm lazy. Sorry.

!!!, "Must Be the Moon"

!!!--"Pardon My Freedom"

!!!--"Hello? Is This Thing On?"

Punk-funk hasn't sound this good since the early days of the Chili Peppers.
The other half and I saw this band live in Asheville a few weeks back. They put on a great show, which you can see for yourself here.

Warning: The second clip is seventeen minutes long, and the first part contains a gratuitous amount of swearing. I can never remember the song's title, so I just refer to it by its chorus: "Like I give a fuck, like I give a shit, like I give a fuck about that shit" In concert, as you can see, it just lyrically devolves into "fuck fuck fuck shit fuck shit." Hell, it's up there with Phil Collins' "I Don't Care Anymore" for Best F*** You song.

What the heck is Pukkelpop?

A few sundry items about !!!:
Their name rivals The The for search engine-unfriendliness. If you like what you see and hear, look for them under "chk chk chk"--the "pronunciation" of their name.

The lead singer has a dance that is even geekier than Pee Wee Herman's in Pee Wee's Big Adventure. Tequila!

I wish I could find "Shit Scheisse Merde" on the The Tube. The song has some fab lyrics:
"Shit scheisse merde
What did George Bush say when he met Tony Blair?
Shit scheisse merde
He said you act like you care and I act like I care and we both stay rich
Stay rich as shit scheisse merde"

The A's--"A Woman's Got the Power"
Feminist-themed (duh...), slightly histrionic early 80's tune from a Philly band with the oh-so-original name of The A's.

Dumb trivia: This song was covered by Clarence Clemons (The Boss's sax man) and the original Effie, Jennifer Holliday.

Taylor Hicks, "Heaven Knows"
Um, yeah, I like the AI Season 5 winner. Bite me.

Sweetness. "Must Be the Moon" is a kick ass song. I'm totally digging that groove.

If you like fuck and shit, you should check out the video for "Fuck the Shit" by Sons Of Butcher.

Warning: They say 'fuck' and 'shit' a lot.

The A's song is all right. But what I really liked about it were the shots of authentic Philadelphians living it up in the early '80s.
